2 X 2 Evangelism
Welcome to a new ministry at Effingham Church of God. We are calling it 2X2 Evangelism. In Mark 6:7, we read the following: "And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.
The purpose of 2X2 Evangelism is to help the members and attenders of Effingham Church of God engage in the harvest field through simple, easy-to-use methods. Each participant is given two scriptures and two questions to use in ministering the gospel to others.
Question 1: "Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?" If the answer is yes, "Praise the Lord."
If the answer is "no," then you offer to share Romans 10:9&10. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
If the answer is yes, but I'm not where I need to be, or I am back-slid you share 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Next Steps:
2nd question: "May I pray with you?" If the answer is no, give them the business card and bless them in the name of the Lord, inviting them to get in touch if needed. If they say yes, then ask them to pray after you like this:
"Father God, I come to you acknowledging I am a sinner and I need a savior. I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins according to the Bible. Right now I confess with my mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart you raised him from the dead. Come into my heart and be Lord of my life from this day forward in Jesus' name. Amen."
If they were saved and backslid, lead them in this prayer: "Father God, I come before you and acknowledge I've slipped away from you. I confess my sins and ask you to forgive me of my sins and welcome me back home. Help me to live for you from this day forward. Amen."
Finally
Make sure you follow up with them, getting their name and number if they are willing to give it. Tell them about the QR Code on the back they can use if they are looking for a church and invite them to come be with you."
